زمینه و هدف: واکنش‌های هیجانی نامناسب در کودکان و نوجوانان دارای ناتوانی هوشی منجربه بروز مشکلات نگرشی در مادران آن‌ها می‌شود. پژوهش حاضر به‌منظور بررسی اثربخشی آموزش برنامهٔ فرزندپروری بر نگرش مادران کودکان دارای ناتوانی هوشی در شهر تهران انجام شد.
روش‌بررسی: پژوهش حاضر، مطالعه‌ای نیمه‌آزمایشی با طرح پیش‌آزمون و پس‌آزمون و گروه گواه بود. نمونهٔ پژوهش ۳۴ نفر از مادران کودکان دارای ناتوانی هوشی در دامنهٔ سنی ۶تا۸ سال در سال تحصیلی ۹۸-۱۳۹۷ بودند که به‌شیوهٔ نمونه‌گیری دردسترس انتخاب شده و با انتصاب تصادفی در دو گروه ۱۷نفری آزمایش و گواه جایدهی شدند. گروه آزمایش در دوازده جلسه آموزش برنامهٔ فرزندپروری به‌صورت هفته‌ای دو جلسه و هر جلسه ۶۰ دقیقه‌ شرکت کرد؛ درحالی‌‌که به گروه گواه این آموزش ارائه نشد و در لیست انتظار ماند. ابزار استفاده‌‌شده در این پژوهش پرسشنامهٔ نگرش‌های فرزندپروری والدین (شاپین، ۱۹۴۹) بود. داده‌ها با استفاده از تحلیل کوواریانس چندمتغیری در سطح معناداری ۰٫۰۵ تحلیل شد.
یافته‌ها: نتایج تحلیل کوواریانس چندمتغیری نشان داد که گروه‌های آزمایش و گواه در نگرش مادران به کودکان دارای ناتوانی هوشی در مرحلهٔ پس‌آزمون تفاوت معناداری دارند و آموزش برنامهٔ فرزندپروری اثر مثبت و معناداری بر نگرش مادران کودکان با ناتوانی هوشی داشته است (۰٫۰۰۱>p).
نتیجه‌گیری: براساس یافته‌های پژوهش، استفاده از برنامهٔ فرزندپروری با نتایج مثبت و مؤثری همراه بوده است. برنامهٔ فرزندپروری به بهزیستی فردی و تجربه‌های عاطفی شخصی وابسته بوده و بر نگرش افراد تأثیر می‌گذارد؛ بنابراین، به‌نظر می‌رسد آموزش این برنامه‌ نقش مهمی در نگرش مادران کودکان دارای ناتوانی هوشی ایفا ‌کند.
