زمینه و هدف: مداخلات روان‌شناختی در مدیریت متغیرهای بیولوژیک، افسردگی و کیفیت زندگی بیماران مبتلا به دیابت مؤثر هستند؛ بنابراین هدف از انجام این پژوهش، مقایسۀ اثربخشی امیددرمانی و معنویت‌درمانی بر رفتار خودمراقبتی، افسردگی و ‏‎ HbA1c در زنان میانسال مبتلا به ‏دیابت نوع دو ‏بود.‏
روش‌بررسی: پژوهش حاضر، نیمه‌آزمایشی از نوع پیش‌آزمون، پس‌آزمون و پیگیری با گروه گواه بود. جامعهٔ آماری تمامی بیماران ‏زن مبتلا به دیابت نوع دو مراجعه‌کننده به مرکز تحقیقات دیابت، متابولیسم و غدد تهران در سال ۱۳۹۹ بودند. به‌روش نمونه‌گیری دردسترس ۴۵ نفر از داوطلبان واجد شرایط وارد پژوهش شدند. سپس به‌طور تصادفی در دو گروه آزمایشی امیددرمانی و معنویت‌درمانی و یک‌ گروه گواه قرار گرفتند (هر گروه پانزده نفر). صرفاً برای گروه‌های آزمایش امید‌درمانی و معنویت‌درمانی هرکدام در هشت جلسهٔ نوددقیقه‌ای برگزار شد. برای جمع‌آوری داده‌ها پرسشنامهٔ افسردگی بک (بک و همکاران، ۱۹۶۱)، پرسشنامهٔ خودمراقبتی (توبرت و همکاران، ۲۰۰۰) و ‏آزمایش HbA1c خون به‌کار رفت. داده‌ها با استفاده از روش تحلیل واریانس با اندازه‌گیری مکرر و آزمون‌ تعقیبی بونفرونی در نرم‌افزار ‏SPSS نسخهٔ ۲۰‎‏ در سطح معناداری ۰٫۰۵ تجزیه‌و‌تحلیل شدند.
یافته‌ها: امیددرمانی و معنویت‌درمانی بر افسردگی (۰٫۰۰۱>p) و HbA1c با (۰٫۰۲۴=p)  اثر کاهنده و بر خودمراقبتی (۰٫۰۰۱>p) اثر افزاینده داشتند. تفاوت معنادار بین دو نوع درمان صرفاً برای متغیر افسردگی وجود داشت (۰٫۰۳۸=p). بین مراحل پیش‌آزمون با پس‌آزمون و پیش‌آزمون با پیگیری برای سه متغیر مذکور تفاوت معنادار وجود داشت (۰٫۰۰۱>p)؛ اما بین مراحل پس‌آزمون و پیگیری برای این متغیرها تفاوت معنادار مشاهده نشد که بیانگر ماندگاری تأثیر مثبت امیددرمانی و معنویت‌‌درمانی در مرحلهٔ پیگیری بود.
نتیجه‌گیری: براساس یافته‌های این پژوهش، امیددرمانی و معنویت‌درمانی بر ‏کاهش افسردگی و HbA1c‏ و افزایش خودمراقبتی در بین زنان میانسال مبتلا به دیابت نوع دو تأثیر دارند، اما برای متغیر افسردگی، امیددرمانی درمقایسه با معنویت‌درمانی اثربخش‌تر است.
