Background & Objectives: Attention deficit /hyperactivity disorder is often associated with mood disorders, substance abuse and personality disorders. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to compare the symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in patients with borderline bipolar disorder and normal subjects using the ADHD questionnaire.
Methods; The research design was of comparative causal type. The research population consisted of women suffering from bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder, who were kept 24/7 in the psychiatric women's centers in Shiraz between 1401 and 1402.   eligible patients were selected from 60 among the investigated and compared population in a targeted way and entered into the study and compared with 30 normal subjects. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder questionnaire was used to compare the groups.  Data analysis was done using one-way analysis of variance and multivariate analysis of variance at a significance level of 0.01%.
Results: The results of one-way analysis of variance and multivariate analysis of variance showed a significant difference in the mean of the groups of people with borderline personality disorder of bipolar disorder and normal people in the symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
Conclusion: Based on these results, it can be said that the patient groups had more attention deficit and hyper activity symptoms than the group of normal individuals. Also, among the group of patients, people with borderline personality disorder reported the highest rate of attention deficit/ hyperactivity symptoms compared to the group of people with bipolar disorder.  Therefore, recognizing and considering these symptoms can be beneficial for clinical therapists.
