مقدمه: اختلال یادگیری به گروهی ناهمگن از اختلال‌ها اشاره دارد و ممکن است با مشکل در خواندن، نوشتن یا توانایی ریاضی بروز یابد. کودکان دارای اختلال یادگیری در کلاس با مشکلات تحصیلی زیادی روبه‌رو هستند. هدف از پژوهش حاضر بررسی تأثیر موسیقی‌درمانی بر بهبود توانایی خواندن و نوشتن دانش‌آموزان با اختلال یادگیری بود.
روش‌بررسی: پژوهش حاضر نیمه‌آزمایشی و از نوع پیش‌آزمون- پس‌آزمون با گروه کنترل بود. برای انجام این پژوهش ۵۸ نفر از دانش‌آموزان که ۲۸ نفر از آن‌ها دارای اختلال خواندن (۱۴ نفر گروه کنترل و ۱۴ نفر گروه آزمایش) و تعداد ۳۰ نفر دارای اختلال نوشتن (۱۵ نفر گروه آزمایش و ۱۵ نفر گروه کنترل) بودند و بصورت غیر‌تصادفی در دسترس انتخاب و به‌صورت تصادفی در چهار گروه (۲ گروه کنترل و ۲ گروه آزمایش) جای گرفتند. پس از برگزاری هفت جلسه موسیقی‌درمانی در گروه‌های آزمایش، پس‌آزمون بر روی هر چهار گروه انجام شد.
یافته‌ها: نتایج حاصل از آزمون تحلیل کوواریانس گویای اثربخشی موسیقی‌درمانی بر اختلال خواندن (۰٫۰۱>p) بود. همچنین موسیقی‌درمانی بر اختلال نوشتن در زمینه‌های حافظهٔ دیداری، حافظهٔ شنیداری و آموزشی در سطح (۰٫۰۱>p) مؤثر است؛ اما در زمینهٔ دقت از لحاظ آماری معنادار نیست.
نتیجه‌گیری: موسیقی‌درمانی موجب بهبود عملکرد خواندن و نوشتن دانش‌آموزان با اختلال یادگیری می‌شود. لذا بر پایهٔ این تحقیق به کارشناسان بهداشت روانی و متولیان مراکز آموزشی توصیه می‌شود جهت بهبود عملکرد تحصیلی دانش‌آموزان با اختلال خواندن و نوشتن، از موسیقی‌درمانی بهره برند.
