هدف: پژوهش حاضر به بررسی تأثیر معنادرمانی فرانکل در سلامت روان مادران دارای کودکان استثنایی پرداخته است.
روش بررسی: این مطالعه از نوع نیمه آزمایشی با گروه‌های ناهمسان و پیش‌آزمون- پس‌آزمون است. جامعه مورد مطالعه پژوهش را، مادران دارای فرزند استثنایی شهر تهران تشکیل می‌داد. نمونه‌گیری به‌صورت داوطلبانه صورت گرفت؛ سپس ۲۳ نفر نمونه‌گیری‌شده، به‌تصادف به دو گروه آزمایش و کنترل تقسیم شدند. گروه آزمایش به مدت ۱۰ جلسه تحت آموزش‌های معنادرمانی قرار گرفت درحالی‌که گروه کنترل هیچ آموزشی را دریافت نکردند. ابزار این پژوهش مصاحبهٔ ساختاریافته و آزمون سلامت عمومی (GHQ) بوده است. داده‌ها با استفاده از نرم‌افزار آماری SPSS مورد تجزیه‌وتحلیل قرار گرفت.
یافته‌ها: نتایج نشان داد که میزان سلامت روان مادران در مرحله قبل از مداخله و بعد از مداخله اختلاف معناداری داشته است (۰٫۰۰۱>p). همچنین بین گروه مداخله و گروه شاهد، اختلاف معنادار بود (۰٫۰۰۱>p).
نتیجه‌گیری: شرکت در جلسات معنادرمانی منجر به ارتقای سطح سلامت روان در گروه آزمایش شده است. اما این نتیجه در مورد گروه گواه به دست نیامد.
