The Effect of Group Training of Anger Control on Improving Communication Skills of Delinquent Girls in Tehran. MEJDS 2016; 6 :270-274

Abstract
Background and objective: Juvenile criminal justice system has seen that girls living in districts of residing juvenile offenders suffer especially from anger and aggression problems. These offenders have negative consequences in the community. The factors that can improve social skills and anger management are directly related to the improvement of human relations. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of communication skills training on improving anger control in delinquent girls.
Methods: This study is a quasi-experimental type with pre- test and post-test and control groups. The study sample consisted of all female offenders in Tehran in 1392 holding in juvenile correction centers. Because of the limitation of the study population, all of members were selected by census sampling method and were randomly divided into two groups, experiment group (30 patients) and control group (30 patient). The experimental group received eight sessions of anger management skills. The measurement tool was Queen dom's questionnaire of communication skills. The collected data were also analyzed by ANCOVA.
Results: The results of covariance analysis shows that the effect of group training of anger control on improving communication skills of delinquent girls is significant at 0.05 level (P<0.001).
Conclusion: The results of this study help authorities of correction centers to teach anger control program for juvenile female offenders to improve their communication skills particularly in their relations with the authorities and other delinquent.
