زمینه و هدف: شواهد پژوهشی حاکی‌از این است که نوجوانان بزهکار از مهارت‌های زندگی بهره‌مند نیستند. یکی از مهارت‌های لازم برای زندگی، مهارت حل مسئلۀ اجتماعی است. هدف این مطالعه، تعیین میزان تأثیر آموزش مهارت حل مسئلهٔ اجتماعی بر وضعیت روان‌شناختی نوجوانان بزهکار پسر بود.
روش‌بررسی: طرح پژوهش حاضر از نوع شبه‌آزمایشی با پیش‌آزمون-پس‌آزمون و انتخاب گروه گواه بود. جامعهٔ آماری پژوهش را تمامی نوجوانان بزهکار پسر کانون اصلاح و تربیت واقع در استان تهران در سال ۱۳۹۷ تشکیل دادند که ازطریق نمونه‌گیری دردسترس، ۵۰ نفر از آنان انتخاب شدند. سپس به‌صورت تصادفی به دو گروه ۲۵نفری (یک‌گروه آزمایش و یک‌گروه گواه) تقسیم شدند. گروه آزمایش تحت سیزده جلسه آموزش حل مسئله‌‌ٔ اجتماعی قرار گرفت. محتوای جلسات براساس الگوی حل مسئلۀ اجتماعی دزوریلا و نزو (۱۹۸۰) صورت‌بندی شد. برای جمع‌آوری اطلاعات از پرسشنامهٔ پنج عامل بزرگ شخصیت (جان، ۱۹۹۰) و مقیاس‌ بهزیستی ذهنی (کییز، و همکاران، ۲۰۰۲) استفاده شد. داده‌ها با استفاده از تحلیل کوواریانس چندمتغیره به ‌کمک نرم‌افزار SPSS نسخۀ ۱۸ تجزیه‌و‌تحلیل شدند.
یافته‌ها: نتایج نشان داد، آموزش حل مسئله‌ٔ اجتماعی می‌تواند شخصیت برون‌گرای نوجوانان بزهکار را بهبود بخشد (۰٫۰۰۴=p).
نتیجه‌گیری: آموزش مهارت حل مسئله اجتماعی بر ویژگی شخصیتی برون¬گرایی نوجوانان پسر بزهکار تأثیر دارد؛ بنابراین کانون اصلاح و تربیت می‌تواند از طریق آموزش حل مسئله‌ اجتماعی به نوجوانان، ویژگی شخصیتی برون‌گرایی آن‌ها را بهبود بخشد.
