Among them, 32 eligible volunteers were included in the study according to the eligibility criteria by the available sampling method and were randomly assigned to two test and witness groups (16 people each). In other words, the mean psychological distress in the experimental group decreased from 18/28 to 62/26 and the mean quality of life in the experimental group increased from 65.93 to 69.81. In other words; The results of the repeated-measures analysis of variance showed that the effect of trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy on psychological distress and quality of life was significant (0.05>p). Also, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy maintained its effectiveness in the experimental group participants during the three-month follow-up period.
Conclusion: According to the results of the study, the application of trauma-focused non-pharmacological cognitive behavioral therapy intervention is effective in reducing psychological distress and increasing quality of life in women victims of domestic violence and improves their psychological problems; Therefore, the implementation of a trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy program in treatment and counseling centers for women victims of domestic violence is recommended.
