Abstract

Abstract
Background & Objectives: Couples with marital conflicts have less marital satisfaction and commitment. They enjoy less marital intimacy and are more likely to experience emotional divorce. They cannot regulate their emotions and face many problems in the quality of their marriage. They do not feel happiness in life and become disappointed and frustrated. Among the components that can be considered both the cause and effect of marital conflict is the change in the happiness and hope of the couple. Women with marital conflicts have less happiness and hope in their lives. Therefore, this study was conducted to explore the effectiveness of the developing package therapy of originality in the three worlds based on Rollo May existential theory on the happiness and hope of women with marital conflicts.
Methods: The current research method was quasi–experimental, employing a pretest–posttest and a two–month follow–up design with a control group. The statistical population of this study included women referred to the psychological clinics of Isfahan City, Iran, in 2021. They completed the Marital Conflict Questionnaire (Barati & Sanai, 1996), and people with a score greater than 114 in the Marital Conflict Questionnaire were selected as the research sample. Twenty–six qualified volunteers from this population were included in the study. They were selected using convenience sampling and randomly placed in the experimental and control groups. Marital Conflict Questionnaires (Barati & Sanai, 1996), the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire (Hills & Argyle, 2002), and Miller's Hope Scale (Miller & Powers, 1988) were used to collect study information. The experimental group received the therapeutic package during fourteen 75–minute sessions, and the control group did not receive any intervention during this period. Data analysis was done in SPSS–24 software, performing a Chi–square test, analysis of variance with repeated measures, and paired comparison test at a significance level of 0.05.
Results:  Based on the Chi–square test results, no significant difference was observed in terms of age (p= 0.695), education (p=0.725), and job (p=0.691) between the two study groups. The research results showed that the therapeutic package of originality in the three worlds based on Rollo May existential theory significantly increased the happiness and hope scores in the experimental group (p<0.001). Also, the therapeutic package had a significant effect on the dimensions of happiness, including satisfaction with life, efficiency, sense of pleasure, self–esteem, sociability, and well–being (p<0.001). In addition, the results indicated the persistence of the treatment package in the follow–up phase for the variables of happiness (p=0.421) and hope (p=0.372).
Conclusion: The research results indicate the significant effectiveness of the therapeutic program of originality in the three worlds based on Rollo May existential theory on increasing happiness and hope in women with marital conflicts. Therefore, this therapeutic package can promote the happiness and hope of women with marital conflicts.
