زمینه و هدف: مطالعات تنظیمات وضعیتی در بیماران مبتلا به مالتیپل اسکلروزیس، نشان‌دهندۀ کاهش اندازه و افزایش تأخیر در فعالیت عضلات در تنظیمات وضعیتی ‌پیش‌بینانه است. هدف از این مطالعه، اثر محرک‌های شنیداری در تنظیمات وضعیتی پیش‌بینانۀ بیماران مالتیپل اسکلروزیس، در طول یک تکلیف زمان واکنش انتخابی بود.
روش بررسی: پژوهش حاضر از نوع مطالعات نیمه‌تجربی، شامل طرح درون‌گروهی برای بررسی اثرات محرک‌های شنیداری و دیداری بر روی تنظیمات وضعیتی پیش‌بینانۀ بیماران مالتیپل اسکلروزیس در طول یک تکلیف زمان واکنش انتخابی بود. بدین منظور، از بین بیماران مرد عضو انجمن مالتیپل اسکلروزیس شهر تهران، ۱۴ نفر، با میانگین سنی ۲٫۳۲±۳۲٫۴ سال، به روش هدفمند و در دسترس انتخاب شدند. آزمودنی‌ها زمان واکنش انتخابی (گام‌برداری) را در پاسخ به هرکدام از محرک‌ها در حضور یا حضور‌نداشتن محرک‌های شنیداری، به‌سرعت و با دقت بر روی صفحۀ نیروسنج اجرا ‌کردند. در طول تکلیف، سیگنال‌های الکترومایوگرافی سطحی عضلات اندام تحتانی، با استفاده از دستگاه الکترومایوگرافی، ثبت شد. شروع گام‌برداری با پای چپ یا راست، مطابق با جهت نمایش‌داده‌شده بر روی صفحۀ مانیتور بود. میزان توزیع هرکدام از جهت‌ها در حضور یا حضورنداشتن محرک‌های شنیداری هم‌سان (برای هرکدام ۵ کوشش) بود. سرعت پاسخ به محرک از طریق نیروی عکس‌العمل زمین و تنظیمات وضعیتی پیش‌بینانه از فعالیت الکتریکی ثبت‌شده از عضلات اندام تحتانی استخراج شد. برای تحلیل داده‌ها از آزمون تحلیل واریانس مکرر و t ‌هم‌بسته در نرم‌افزار SPSS نسخۀ ۲۰ و با سطح معنی‌داری ۰٫۰۵ استفاده شد.
یافته‌ها: نتایج آزمون t هم‌بسته نشان داد که زمان واکنش در حضور محرک‌های شنیداری در بیماران مالتیپل اسکلروزیس سریع‌تر بود (۰٫۰۲۴=p). همچنین میزان تنظیمات وضعیتی پیش‌بینانه در حضور محرک‌‌های شنیداری، بیشتر از وضعیت حضورنداشتن این محرک بود (۰٫۰۰۱>p). 
نتیجه‌گیری: به نظر می‌رسد محرک‌های شنیداری در بیماران مالتیپل اسکلروزیس باعث افزایش سرعت زمان واکنش انتخابی و همچنین افزایش تنظیمات وضعیتی در عضلات اندام تحتانی می‌شود.
