Abstract
Background & Objective: Infertility as a biological phenomenon has personal and interpersonal psychological effects. Thus, expressing the psychological and marital consequences would be expectable after diagnose of infertility. The aim of current study was to investigate the effect of positive thinking training on psychological well- being and marital relationship quality of infertile Couple.
Methods: This study is a pre-test and post-test control group quasi-experimental one. The population of the study was all infertile couples received in the Obstetricians and Gynaecologists clinics in Ardebil-Iran. Convenience sampling was used to recruit 20 participants. The research instruments were Perceived Relationship Quality and Reef Psychological Well-being Questionnaire. Univariate analysis of variance (ANCOVA) was used to analyse the data.
Results: The results showed significant differences pre-test post-test differences among infertile Couple receiving positive thinking training on psychological well-being and the quality of the marital relationship (p<0.001).
Conclusion: It can be concluded that positive thinking has a significant effect on psychological well-being and the quality of the marital relationship. Therefore, it is suggested that infertile couples receive special training.
