Aim: The present study conducted to compare the effectiveness of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and Education Based on Protection Motivation on life quality adherence to treatment in patients with Diabet disease.
Method: Research method was quasi-experimental with pre-test, post- test, three-month follow-up and control group. The statistical population consist of all dieases (40-65) suffering from diabet and applied to Counseling society of diabet located in Tehran City in seasons of autumn & winter of 1397 and spring of 1398 that on the basis of their reports estimated 45 patients. Fourty five available patients selected (fifteen in each experimental group) and replaced randomly in experimental group 1(CBT) and experimental group2 (EPM). Fifteen other patients placed in control group and did not receive any psychotherapy. Life quality Inventory (WHO, 2004) was administered pre-test, post-test and follow-up. The therapeutic packages of cognitive behavior therapy and education based on protection motivation applied on experimental groups (ninety minutes each session) weekly and the control group did not receive any therapy.
Results: Results showed that the CBT and EPM both are affected the same on increasing of life quality in patients with Diabet disease. Three- month follow-up confirmed these results.
Conclusion: Since changing of biopsychosocial factors is affected on Diabet disease so should tend life quality component to raise the health of these patients.
