Background and Purpose: Obesity is a common problem for public health and is one of the main concerns of the World Health Organization. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of cognitive-based therapy, well-groomed Yoga and quality of life in obese men.
Method: The research method was semi-experimental and pretest-posttest design with control group and a 2-month follow-up. 30 men were selected by available sampling method from men referred to the obesity clinic and randomly assigned to the experimental groups (n1 = 15 and control group (n2 = 15) .The quality of life of the subjects was assessed using a questionnaire The quality of life of Weir et al. Was measured in the pretest stages, then a stress-based exercise program based on mind-awareness and yoga-consciousness was conducted in 8 sessions of the experimental group. At the end of the interventions, the quality of life of men was measured and the data were analyzed using the analysis Multivariate variances were analyzed.
Results: Findings showed that cognitive therapy based on mindfulness can be to significantly increase the quality of life of men tested.
Conclusion: The results of the research suggest that cognitive therapy based on mindfulness can be a suitable treatment for improving the quality of life of men with obesity. Therefore, in order to increase the quality of life of men with obesity, the use of cognitive therapy based on mind-awareness is suggested.
